Quality Assurance Supervisor
Location:

Scope for the position:
Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance Team to uphold the highest levels of product quality, safety and compliance with regulatory requirements. Supervises the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of food safety programs within the facility.
Basic function of the position:
This role supervises employees in the Quality Assurance department and ensures compliance with Quality standards and regulations while driving a strong culture of food safety and quality across the site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor quality assurance activities and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and customer requirements.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of quality issues, complaint investigations and corrective actions to management.
- Effectively coordinates and leads the Quality Assurance team on daily activities with a strong emphasis on employee development, product quality and safety.
- Supervise ongoing Quality projects, ensuring timelines and project milestones are met.
- Acts as SQF Practitioner. Assists with the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF system, including food safety fundamentals and food safety plan. Takes appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF system and communicates to all relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF system.
- Assists department Manager in developing and delivering comprehensive training on GMPs, personal hygiene, and food safety policies for all staff.
- Participates in and supports all internal, third party and regulatory audits and any necessary corrective action plans.
- Supervises the supplier approval program, change control and product stability programs.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for out of specification products as needed.
- Assists in the writing and review of Standard Operating Procedures
- Suggests and implements continuous improvement ideas and changes in work instructions, procedures, resources, and training needs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to food safety programs, audits, corrective actions, and incidents.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, and other departments to uphold food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Investigate and address any food safety incidents promptly.
- Participate in the coordination and execution of product recalls and withdrawals as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, and certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree four-year college or university with major in a science field (i.e. Chemistry, Biology).
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, listening, decision-making and troubleshooting skills.
- Must possess strong organizational skills, be a self-starter and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Must possess professional attitude and be able to work well with peers and management. Ability to train others.

- Experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment, preferably dietary supplements, foods or pharmaceuticals, required.
- Minimum two (2) year experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control leadership role.
- Experience in internal and external auditing, change control procedures, and GMP compliance and enforcement is required.
- Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of GFSI standards, HACCP and GMP standards.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Natural Health Product and Food regulations.

Scope for the position:
The Bilingual (English and French) Account Manager effectively manages a defined territory and set of customers to achieve sales targets by building relationships, increasing distribution, improving unit turns and educating store advisors and staff. This is a field position and requires extensive time in stores, supported by required administrative time in a home office (~80% in market, ~20% admin).Basic function of the position:
- To increase total gross sales within the territory and achieve targeted KPIs as defined by sales management.
- To manage profitability through responsible use of trade (co-op) dollars to support sales of the brands & products.
- Successfully achieve placement of top selling products and brands in market as defined by Sales & Marketing Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- A minimum of 20 retail store/customer visits including a minimum of 15 sales presentations per week
- Maintain an up-to-date call schedule in Outlook calendar
- Responsible for the preparation and sales call planning for all customer visits

Inside Sales Account Manager

The Inside Sales Account Manager (Fixed Term Contract) needs to be Bilingual (English and French) and provide consistent sales representation to existing Puresource customers, assigned new customers and all customer requests, thereby reducing misunderstandings, improving customer service and boosting sales and to supply on time and accurate order processing.
Basic function of the position:
Territory Sales Calls: Inside Sales Account Managers are assigned specific territories. These territories are to be serviced by the sales rep on a predetermined schedule based on support needs of the customer. The sales rep is responsible to be aware of several different policies at Puresource. These include, but are not limited to, terms, credit and return policies, and product knowledge etc.
Sales Calls: Inside sales Account Managers are assigned specific accounts to build rapport and provide the highest level of customer satisfaction, while maintaining and expanding Puresource product lines. Identifying key decision makers within assigned accounts to facilitate entire sales process from the initiation of the original call through order processing.
Answering Phones: Answering phones in a courteous and pleasant manner is the responsibility of the inside sales rep in line with Puresource’s mission of providing the best customer service to its customers.
Processing Orders: Reps are responsible to input all company orders with accurate store and order information and to ensure the appropriate follow-up whether received by phone/fax or email. All orders at some point should be dealt with as a result of a call to the customer. In the case of fax or email, you want to call the customer to confirm receipt of the order. While on the phone, it is the opportune time to clarify any issues with the order, let the customer know if a product is out of stock or discontinued and provide alternatives. Also increase sales through upsells via bi-weekly sales or volume deals, and see if we can be of any further assistance to the customer. Reps are expected to meet all time lines that are set out in our policies and are responsible for checking fill rates. Reps are also responsible to ensure maintenance of the order database as per the order entry SOP.
Catalogue: Puresource publishes a quarterly catalogue to highlight specials, new items and promotions. It is the sales rep’s responsibility to ensure that their customers are made aware of these promotions and new products and encourage the trial of these items. Unpublished discounts, promotions, and demos must have approval from Sales Manager.
Sales Support: At times the Inside Sales Account Managers will also provide support to all other sales teams. It is important to maintain good communications with the Outside sales team regarding any customer issues, needs, or if they are required to get in contact with a customer.
Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service will provide Puresource with the edge on the competition, as you are the front line contact. It is important to make sure that the customer has had a positive experience with the Inside Sales Department and that they will want to continue doing business with Puresource as a result.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Weekly sales calls to customers
- Communicating customer needs/issues to outside sales
- Communicating with customers, making outbound calls to potential customers, and following up on leads
- Keeping assigned customer up with product and service information and updates as needed

- Communicating with all departments within Puresource to ensure excellent customer service
- Ensuring special shipping costs are expressed to the customer and special shipping requirements communicated to the Shipping Department

- Follow procedures outlined in shipping work instructions for “special customers” i.e. Mass market
- Pack orders for protection while in transit
- Palletize orders for shipping
- Complete required shipping paperwork

- Clean and organize packing area

- Grade 12 diploma (OSSD)

Job Title:Category Manager
Scope for the position:- The Category Manager for Supplements will be the category liaison to support marketing and sales activities – translating marketing programs into customer-based activities to help drive sales objectives.
- The Category Manager for Supplements will work closely with marketing teams, sales teams and customers to help lead and communicate fact-based insights to drive sales objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of category, shopper insight, competitive and the retailer landscape to inform future marketing initiatives and sales planning
Lead assortment and planogram recommendations for priority categories - Actively lead and generate monthly category reviews, new product and promotional dashboards, competitive insights and report findings and recommendations to the senior leadership team
- Support sales team – strategic selling stories to support key categories and segments
- New Product support – lead and execute best in class retailer/trade facing PPT presentations, new product sell sheets, in-store and digital support to help drive KPI’s
- Assist with the development and coordination of new item launch and training materials (sales and retailer facing) in collaboration with the Nutrition and Health Education Manager

- Support Marketing team in core B2B activities including retailer communications, catalogue deals, promotions, etc.
- Assist in the annual business planning process, supporting marketing and sales planning activities including category insight data, competitive insights, etc. to help build stronger plans
- Analyze & recommend wholesale price changes for private brand products to help ensure market competitiveness & support profitability targets
Support and attend key trade shows - Perform other duties as assigned
Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, and certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business or related field from an accredited institution
- 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in a related role, supplement expertise preferred
- Experience in the nutritional field is an asset
- MS Office applications – exceptional use of Excel and PPT
- Ability to travel to other facilities and work off hours and weekends as needed
- Valid passport as travel outside of Canada will be required occasionally
- Access to reliable transportation
- Demonstrated project management skills and problem solving necessary to pre-empt and deal with rapidly changing market conditions
- Develops best in class store materials (traditional & digital)
- Expert in developing reports, analyzing and translating that information into actionable insights to help drive sales and marketing objectives

Sanitation Technician

Scope for the position:- Maintains the overall cleanliness of the manufacturing plant and warehouse area. Performs cleaning and sanitation of areas as stated in the SOP and Master Sanitation Schedule.
Basic function of the position:
- Performs daily sanitation duties as stated in the Master Sanitation Schedule for manufacturing and warehousing areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs duties as stated in the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Cleans and sanitizes all common areas such as hallways, lockers, locker areas, sanitation rooms, dust collector rooms, drains, docking areas, ovens, ceiling vents and tiles.
- Deep cleaning of production workstations as requested.
- Removal and disposal of trash and cleaning of garbage bins
- Assist production personnel with changeovers and workstation cleaning.
- Checks Soap Titrations and water temperature as needed.
- Refills soap, sanitizers, paper towels, and other personal protective equipment.
- Assists with continuous improvement by Identifying opportunities for quality and sanitation.
- Performs sanitation related tasks including but not limited to scrubbing, mopping of the floors, walls and equipment; vacuuming, removing trash; using the proper chemicals / equipment and all other related duties as assigned.
- Operates electric pallet jack, power washers, steam cleaners floor scrubbers, vacuums and man-lift to assist in performing sanitation duties.
- Completes daily task documentation as required.
- Reports all repairs and maintenance issues throughout the facility in a timely manner.
- Supports Production and Quality teams through sanitation efforts and initiatives.
- Complies with safety, cGMP, SOP and SQF requirements.
- Cleans and sanitizes all common areas such as cafeteria, offices, restrooms, entrances, stairwells, lockers, conference rooms.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork; washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Cleans washrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors. Replenishes bathroom supplies.
- Cleans warehouse areas including loading docks, rails, racks, restrooms, and offices.
- Deep cleaning of offices, hallways, and other common areas.
- Removal and disposal of trash and cleaning of garbage bins.
- Assists with department environmental monitoring activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, and certifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer and data entry skills required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing sanitation environment, preferably food or pharmaceuticals helpful.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as MSDS sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals (S.O.P.). Ability to fill out sanitation/production paperwork accurately.
- Good verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to operate various types of powered industrial equipment (floor scrubber, electric pallet jack and man lift) required.
- Good attention to detail skills required.
- Exhibits strong teamwork skills; possesses a good, “can do” attitude; collaborates with others; works in a fast-paced environment while following all company policies and procedures, including all safety policies; and exhibits flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks, change tasks and work in different areas as needed.
